Ratings

Honesty
1.2 / 5

Actual capacity is 3.1 Ah, vs 8 Ah advertised. Complete lie.

Durability
0.5 / 5

Flimsy tool contacts and abysmal electrical construction. Not durable.

Capacity
2 / 5

One of the lowest capacities tested at 3.1 Ah.

Power
0.5 / 5

Not capable of high power; very poor electrical construction.

Safety
3 / 5

Not particularly safe, not particularly unsafe; the battery is not capable of high-power discharge.

Testing Statistics

Cell notes

Different cells even within the same 4-pack of batteries. Implied 6C / 12A max continuous discharge. 1500mAh and 2000mAh capacity across cells.

Cycling Test

We cycle the batteries at high-power (800W for 20s on, then 20W for 6s off) to reflect their actual usage in high-load scenarios like circular saw use.

Cycles survived: 3 | Failure mode: Stopped before tool cutoff

Capacity Test

We measure the amount of usable energy the pack supplies from 100% to 0% charge.

Capacity: 55.2 Wh (38% of stated 8 Ah @ 18V Nominal)

Pack Internal Resistance Test

Pack Resistance: 109.4 mOhm (average value of pack resistance between 17.5 and 18.5 V)

Failure Test

The battery is stepped through 30s at increasing current levels, ignoring safety features like temperature and voltage warnings, until the pack fails catastrophically.

Energy discharged: 18.5 Wh, Peak power: 723 W
