Actual capacity is 4.9 Ah, vs 6 Ah advertised.
Cheap wire harness heats up and melts the pack, even when within standard heavy-use operating regime

Pack came with high-quality, cleanly-branded cells, but they were ~8 years old, plus the thermistor on this pack did not operate correctly in the performance test.
A poorly installed thermistor shut down the pack prematurely during testing, likely culprit is the inadequate wire harness design.

Cell notes
LG INR18650HG2, ~20 A max continuous discharge, 3000 mAh capacity. Lot codes date the cells to 2018 manufacturing date.
Cycling Test
We cycle the batteries at high-power (800W for 20s on, then 20W for 6s off) to reflect their actual usage in high-load scenarios like circular saw use.
Capacity Test
We measure the amount of usable energy the pack supplies from 100% to 0% charge.
Pack Internal Resistance Test
Failure Test
The battery is stepped through 30s at increasing current levels, ignoring safety features like temperature and voltage warnings, until the pack fails catastrophically.
